Service Description: Local historians will need to use a wide range of parish, estate and local government archives. These pages are a guide to some of the most useful published sources, including newspapers, trade directories and printed books held at the County Rcord Office and elsewhere, as well as references to illustrations, maps and plans which give visual evidence of the Island as it used to be.
