Volunteer Opportunity: Bring Joy to Individuals Across the Isle of Wight!

Role: Volunteer Activities Assistant

Location: Varied – There are 5 homes spread across the island from the sunny shores of Shanklin and Ryde to the hustle and bustle of Newport and the epic vistas of Freshwater.

Time Commitment: Flexible – A lot or a little even a couple of hours a week can make a big difference to an individual!

Are you a friendly, compassionate person who enjoys spending time with others? Do you have a few hours to spare each week? Want to make a big difference to someone’s way of life? We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help bring smiles, laughter, and companionship to the wonderful individuals across our 5 care settings.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Assisting with fun group activities like arts & crafts, games, music sessions, gentle exercise and more.
  • Offering one-to-one companionship through chats, walks in the garden or outings.
  • Helping to set up and tidy activity spaces supporting our Activity and Wellbeing Coordinator.
  • Sharing your hobbies or talents – whether it’s knitting, storytelling, or playing an instrument!

What We’re Looking For

  • A kind and patient nature
  • Good communication and listening skills.
  • Reliability and a sense of humour
  • No experience needed – just a willingness to help and connect.
