Are you an experienced Social Worker passionate about working with people to promote independence and dedicated to making a difference? Do you have experience of supervising, maybe as a Practice Educator or Mentor?

 

We currently have a vacancy in our Integrated Localities Teams – North East locality - for a Senior Social Worker to help play their part in supporting Island residents achieve the quality of life they want, and to live the life they choose in the community they call home. The integrated localities team is co located with other health colleagues providing all the advantages that this brings of shared knowledge and joined up working.

 

Supervision is cascaded through the team with the Senior Social Worker supervising several of the qualified Social Workers, as such you will be overseeing the day-to-day operations and supervision of the adult social care staff in one of the integrated localities teams whilst being supported by the Team Manager.

 

You will be responsible for quality checking and auditing work completed by those you line manage and supervise, and you will be allocating and approving work, providing supervision and practice guidance to your staff using your knowledge of legislation and understanding of safeguarding.

The Isle of Wight Council is committed to supporting all newly qualified social workers (NQSWs) via a robust post-graduate competency framework, the ‘Assessed and Supported Year of Employment’ (ASYE). The ASYE is intended to be the first stage of continuing professional development for Registered Social Workers. The framework will be closely allied to the Professional Capabilities Framework (PCF).  You will be therefore, be required to satisfactorily complete the ASYE programme within a 12-month period (or 18 months if part-time).
