Are you looking to work in care in a non- traditional fashion?

The Isle of Wight Council are looking to recruit an Assistant Manager on a permanent contract to join our newly refurbished Goulding’s Reablement Resource Centre following significant investment. A scenic 20-minute drive from Newport, The Goulding’s is located in Freshwater and is on a direct bus route.

Reablement is a targeted, person centred delivery of care focussing on working with individuals to identify and reach their own goals, supporting them on their journey to regaining independence. The start of that journey begins in our bedded Resource Centre where you will enjoy a rewarding, dynamic and versatile role, working alongside the individuals who use our service, colleagues, and a variety of other professionals along the way.

As an Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing shifts ensuring excellent standards of care delivery
  • The supervision of a team of employees
  • Undertaking medication administration
  • Audits and a range of Management tasks
  • You will work a range of shifts (0700-1500 and 1400-2200), every other weekend working as well as participate in a rota’d on call system.

A Level 4/5 Diploma in Health and Social Care is desirable; however, a Level 3 is essential as is a willingness to learn and an appropriate range of literacy, numeracy, and IT skills. You will have excellent Leadership and communication skills, a passion for people and the ability to prioritise workloads in a busy environment. You will be supported with full training, regular structured supervision and development opportunities.

We are committed to ensuring all staff recognise that safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and that there are processes in place to safeguard individuals who access services in their areas. We work closely with local partners and are responsible for ensuring that effective systems are in place to safeguard adults and children at risk.

For further information, please contact the Goulding’s on 01983 433192 and request to speak to the Deputy or Registered Manager.
