Grade 8, £28,594.00 to £31,364.00 per annum

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Homeless Reduction Officer to join our caring, dynamic, and knowledgeable housing team.

This role is integral to ensuring the council meets its duties under the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 (HRA) and you will preferably have proven experience and knowledge of welfare rights and associated legislation.

You will be expected to be able to make evidenced and informed statutory homeless determinations under the HRA and understand the duties that this entails. Integral to this will be the ability to offer advice, guidance, support, and advocacy on all aspects of housing needs.

 

The successful candidate will:

Have proven experience of working in a housing advice or homeless environment or be able to demonstrate that you have transferable skills, knowledge, and passion for the role.

Able to manage a caseload and will be committed to understanding the multiple complexities that can have an impact on homelessness.

Have excellent communication, assessment and relationship building skills. 

The ability to work closely with colleagues and other services building upon existing relationships with wider partners.

You will be required to take part in the Out of Hours Stand-by Duty Rota as and when requested by management.  Standby and call out duties are paid in accordance with the IWC Terms and Conditions 2012 document.
