Job Summary
Service Manager - Education
County Hall, Newport Isle of Wight. Agile/ Travel is an aspect of this role.
Grade 15, £64,836.00 to £69,872.00 per annum PLUS a market supplement of £12,000 p/a which will be reviewed annually.

Do you want to have a 'once in a career opportunity' to set up and oversee a brand new School Improvement service within the new Children’s Services Directorate at the Isle of Wight Council?

What will you be doing?
- Improving outcomes of all children and young people across the Island.
- Set up and manage the School Improvement Service, including Governor Services
- Take responsibility for developing a traded service.
- Line manage Post 16 and Early Years, atop of school improvement.
- Work with external stakeholders to improve opportunities for children and young people.
- Develop and monitor service planning, including KPI’s.
- Represent the department within various meetings and partnerships.
- Work with senior colleagues to drive forward the Education Strategy.
- Work to improve our SEN provision and contribute towards our Safety Valve work.
- Work to contribute towards our Area SEND preparation.
- Improve outcomes for children and young people with SEND.
About you
- A qualified teacher, with significant school leadership experience.
- Able to work as part of a team, taking responsibility for areas they lead on.
- Ability to access face to face meetings locally.
- High quality verbal and written communication skills.
- A commitment to ensuring children and young people across the Isle of Wight achieve their best outcomes and develop into independent adults.
