Contract Type: Fixed Term (End date determined by completion of qualification plus one year practical ‘on job’ training)

Hours: 37 per week

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to join our team and train to become a lawyer. The successful applicant will work in a friendly and professional social care legal team supporting the council’s education and adult safeguarding and social care work. 

 

The post is a career graded role that moves up the pay scales when the successful candidate achieves part of their qualification and starts to manage their own case load.

 

In addition to on-the-job training, our new colleague will be supported to complete a trainee CILEX legal qualification (full CPQ Stage) from entry level paralegal qualification right through all the academic training required to become a fully qualified lawyer. 

 

This role is suited to different people whether they are a school leaver (with A levels or equivalent) or someone looking for a change in career.  Most importantly we are looking for the right person with the ability to learn and understand legal processes and apply the law and training they complete.

Relocation: For some vacancies (subject to criteria) a relocation scheme of up to £8,000 may be available if you are specifically relocating to the Isle of Wight to work with us, or if you choose to commute to the Isle of Wight daily, you may be eligible to have some travel costs reimbursed.
