St George’s School is expanding

St George’s is a secondary special school on the Isle of Wight providing education for students with severe and complex needs.

In September 2024 we are opening a satellite provision for young people with SEMH needs, St George’s Studio in East Cowes, where we will be embedding trauma informed practice, including the therapeutic classrooms approach.

This is a very exciting time and the following teaching positions are open to application if you are interested in joining us on our journey.

We are looking for a motivated individual who can teach a practical curriculum which includes aspects of food technology, design technology, woodwork, and ICT. The successful candidate will have some experience of the above but also a willingness to develop skills through CPD to enable students to access a vocational and engaging education.

In return we can offer:

-       Wonderful students.

-       The opportunity to be part of an adaptable, committed, and skilled staff team.

-       A creative learning environment, timetable, and curriculum.

-       A wide range of training opportunities for career development.

We are committed to safeguarding the welfare of children and expect all our staff to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS check is required for the successful applicant.

The community of St George’s empowers everyone to feel safe, valued, and welcome. We work towards our aspirations and celebrate our personal achievements.  We learn to make choices that shape our future; enabling us to have our voices heard, be respected, develop resilience and independence to take our place in society.
