Could you bring your culinary skills to provide delicious meals for our residents at the Adelaide? We are a purpose-built 24 bedroom Resource Centre situated in Ryde.

 

Our reablement service offers support to people on discharge from hospital, allowing them to regain independence. We are registered with the Care Quality Commission, offering a high standard of care by trained and experience staff in a comfortable environment. We have a positive approach to person centred care and promotion of independence. We work closely with GPs, District Nurses and other Health and Social care professionals to maintain client’s wellbeing.

 

The centre offers a wide range of stimulating leisure activities. These can include outings, seasonal events, indoor entertainment and the occasional party.

 

Our Isle of Wight Council Adelaide Reablement Service is looking for an Assistant Cook to work alongside and support the Cook in Charge, you will help to prepare, cook and serve meals to the people we support in our home and monitor kitchen stock.

 

Your role will include freshly preparing and cooking healthy and nutritionally balanced meals daily onsite in consultation with residents and staff to reflect each individual’s likes, dislikes and dietary needs.

 

You will ensure high standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained.

 

You will be expected to cover for the Cook in Charge when they are not on duty.

 

It would be helpful to have previous experience in the catering industry, you will be expected to hold or undertake infection control and food hygiene training.

 

We are looking to appoint an individual with good listening and observational skills and awareness of the challenges faced by people who need care and support.

PLEASE NOTE: Out of Hours Standby and Call Out

You will be required to take part in the Out of Hours Stand-by Duty Rota as and when requested by management.  Standby and call out duties are paid in accordance with the IWC Terms and Conditions 2012 document.
