What will I do?

In our friendly, professional, and highly motivated pensions team you’ll be given the skills you’ll need to take on a variety of detailed tasks including.

·Ensuring data collection is accurate.

·Conducting variety of different LGPS pension calculations

·Liaising regularly with eligible employers of the fund to obtain correct information. All our Employers use i-connect to submit monthly data.

·Challenging employers over the quality of data.

·Ensuring pension entitlements and calculations are compliant (under LGPS regulations set out by the Pensions Regulator and the Pensions Act.

·The calculation and payment of pension benefits to all scheme members

·Checking new staff documents, contractual changes, leavers, and refunds to ensure records are accurate.

·Support with McCloud and other projects.

 

What skills do I need to apply?

To succeed in the role of Pensions Administration Officer, we will require you to have Local Government Pension Scheme knowledge of the scheme regulations, calculations, and experience of Pension administration systems. We will also need you to have excellent Microsoft skills including the use of Excel, Outlook, and Teams.

You’ll need to possess good numerical aptitude and can learn and keep up to date with complex and ever-changing scheme regulations.

It’s vital that you are customer-focused with good communication skills to successfully engage with a wide variety of people every day and you’ll need be flexible and adaptable in your approach to work.
