LEARNING SUPPORT ASSISTANT

Summerfields Primary School, Atkinson Drive, Newport, Isle of Wight, PO30 2LJ

Grade 3 £16,178.60 to £16,357.79 (actual salary)

Hours: 30 hours per week Term Time Only (44.89 weeks per year)

Commence date: 15th April 2024 or sooner if possible.

Contract Type: Permanent

 

Would you like to come and join our friendly and hardworking team?  We are seeking to appoint a KS1 Learning Support Assistant to start from 15th April 2024 or sooner, if possible, to work 30 hours per week – Monday to Friday, term time only from 8:30am-3pm which includes a 30-minute lunch cover.

 

We are looking for someone who loves working with children, who is committed, self-motivated and flexible, can work collaboratively as part of a team. The position is to support children with specific individual needs and supporting the class/groups where required.

This role falls within the strategic partnership between the Isle of Wight Council and Hampshire County Council. The employer will be the Isle of Wight Council and employment is on Isle of Wight terms and conditions. Hampshire County Council has delivered, on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council, all of its children’s services functions and will continue to do so until 2023. The original five-year partnership arrangement under direction of the Secretary of State finished in 2018 but has been extended voluntarily by both local authorities for a further five years.

The management reporting line for this role is ultimately through Hampshire County Council Children’s Services Director/Assistant Director and managers who take operational responsibility for children’s services.
