An exciting opportunity to lead Waste and Public Realm services is awaiting a confidant, strong communicator with a passion for parks, trees, open spaces, strong environmental enforcement, and high achieving waste collection through to disposal services.

 

Managing a team of contract managers and operational staff, you will be at home managing the performance of our waste service providers to continue delivering high quality collection services and striving for excellence in minimisation, recycling, and landfill diversion. Our waste PPP contract is achieving great things and needs a good eye for detail and strong relationship building to lead and monitor required outcomes.

 

Working with the trees and parks staff you will ensure our open spaces offer amazing outdoor connectivity for the community. Your team of environment officers will help you lead the effort to maintain clearer streets, parks and playground and support town, parish, and community councils in ensuring open spaces are welcoming environments.

 

This role will require an agile mind and strong negotiation skills, as well as a warm and welcoming approach to stakeholders. We are looking for a strong self-starter and charismatic leader with a passion for everything green. Working to grow, protect and maintain our wider environment for the benefit of our community.
