FAMILY LIAISON OFFICER

Permanent contract, starting as soon as possible.

Brading is a happy, friendly 2-11 school which lies at the heart of the community and is truly inclusive.

We have an effective programme of engagement with parents, carers, and families, and we are seeking to strengthen this provision through the appointment of a Family Liaison Officer.

The successful candidate will perform a key role in developing and maintaining effective partnerships with parents/carers and in promoting learning and well-being within our school community.

A primary function of this role is to support vulnerable children to overcome barriers to learning.

Previous experience of similar work, engaging face to face with parents/carers and other agencies to deliver a level of positive support to families would be an advantage.

This role falls within the strategic partnership between the Isle of Wight Council and Hampshire County Council. The employer will be the Isle of Wight Council and employment is on Isle of Wight terms and conditions. Hampshire County Council has delivered, on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council, all of its children’s services functions and will continue to do so until 2023. The original five-year partnership arrangement under direction of the Secretary of State finished in 2018 but has been extended voluntarily by both local authorities for a further five years.

 

The management reporting line for this role is ultimately through Hampshire County Council Children’s Services Director/Assistant Director and managers who take operational responsibility for children’s services.
