The Gouldings is a Care Quality Commission registered Resource Centre. It has a highly dedicated and skilled staff team who support and empower individuals to promote their independence in a relaxed, social environment. Our experienced and professional team work towards developing supportive relationships with our clients, encouraging them to build up and maintain their confidence and self-esteem.

We have a long-standing reputation of high-quality care which we provide for our clients who have a wide variety of needs. We also work closely with health and social care professionals who will visit on a regular basis or will make visits by arrangement. These include local GP’s, District Nurses and Chiropodists. The Gouldings provides services and support 24 hours a day seven days a week throughout the year.

We offer regular or short-term respite care ranging from an overnight stay to longer periods. The Gouldings Resource Centre has 22 bedrooms, all ensuite. These are spread over three floors with all being serviced by both stairs and a lift.

At The Gouldings we have the following facilities:

· Nutritionally balanced meals freshly prepared and cooked on site daily and reflects each individual’s preferences and dietary needs.

· A wide range of stimulating leisure activities including, outings, seasonal events, daily indoor entertainment and the occasional party.

· Access to in-house Therapists.

· Visitors are welcome at the Gouldings.

 

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspected The Gouldings in August 2021 and rated the service as ‘good’.

 

Following significant investment, our newly refurbished Goulding’s resource centre in Freshwater needs you!

Located on a scenic 20-minute journey from Newport and directly on a main bus route, we are looking to recruit both Day and Night Support Workers to join us on a range of permanent contracts and grades to deliver outstanding Reablement support alongside Crisis and Respite care to the 22 people who use our Services.

You will work directly with the people staying at the home to identify and achieve their own goals, helping them on their journey to be more independent.

The role is a rewarding, dynamic and versatile. You will be working with individuals and other colleagues ensuring the service we offer is effective to meet people’s needs following our ethos of assisting clients using a ‘do with’ method rather than a ‘do for’.

We will provide you with unrivalled support through supervision and a fantastic learning and development offer. If you have a Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care, that’s great but if not, we will help you achieve it. A good knowledge of literacy and numeracy is also essential but again, we can help you there if you need it.
