This is an exciting opportunity to join our volunteer scheme here at Children’s Services, the scheme is managed by the Resilience Around Families Team and provides opportunity to volunteer across Children’s Services. We are looking to grow our team of volunteers as we move forward in more effectively supporting children and families living on our Island.
Volunteers add real extra value to the great work the staff at Children’s Services are already doing. Volunteering with us will provide you with opportunities to improve your skills knowledge and experience and to meet new people.
You may be retired, in further education, employed or seeking employment. As the largest employer on the island, we are committed to supporting you through your volunteering journey.
Current and future opportunities include:
Buddying/mentoring children, young people and their families.
Carrying out return interviews for children in care who have gone missing.
Sitting on referral order panels (helping to guide and support young offenders).
Supporting children and their families to access services and activities in their local community, supporting council workers on Home Visits.
