The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service Training and Community Response Services Identification requirements are applicable to all accredited First Aid courses delivered by the ATCoRS.
The ATCoRS has a responsibility to confirm the identity of each learner as part of the course registration process. This means ensuring that each learner’s identification is checked and that the type of identification provided by each learner is recorded.
The following would be permitted proof of a learner’s Identity:
-A valid passport (any nationality)
-A signed UK photo card driving licence
-Valid warrant card issued by HM Forces or the Police
-Other photographic ID card, e.g. student ID card, travel card

This qualification is valid for 3 years from the date the certificate is issued at which time learners would be required to re-attend the training.
Please note that if an Isle of Wight Council staff member attends this course but doesn’t achieve the certificate, their service area will be charged the full cost of attendance.
Important information:
Course registration is 08:45-09:00. If learners are 15-30 minutes late, they may still be able to join the course but at the Tutor’s discretion and the Learner will be required to make up any missed learning time on that day. If over 30 minutes late, the Learner will need to rebook for an alternative day.
Your course is due to finish at 17:00, however please bear with us, the course may over run due to extra cleaning and additional learner needs.
The role of a First Aider requires individuals to be able to care for a casualty on the floor and our accredited training courses reflect this with competencies that need to be demonstrated physically. Methods of assessment also include observations, discussions, questioning and multiple-choice knowledge test(s). If you foresee any reason which would prevent you from carrying out theoretical or practical tasks, we politely ask that you contact us prior to the course to discuss this further.
Please ensure that you wear comfortable clothing as you will be required to work on the floor. With this in mind, could we also ask that clothing is suitable for a training environment. If you work with animals, please also ensure that you do not bring animal hair into the training environment on your clothing to reduce the risk of a reaction to those with allergies.
Isle of Wight Council employees should book via the Learning Hub. External delegates can book by completing the online application form
