Climate Change and the IWC

The Isle of Wight Climate and Environment Strategy sets the pathway to achieve net-carbon zero in three stages:

  • As a council in our service delivery by 2030
  • Across our schools estate by 2035; and
  • As a whole island community by 2040

Climate change is having a severe impact around the world. It causes changes in temperature and weather systems. These changes lead to a broad range of negative impacts on the environment and humans.
