Registering a Building for Religious Worship and Marriage

Service Description: If a congregation is using a building for religious worship and would like this building to be certified as a place of worship by the Registrar General, this can be done through the Superintendent Registrar at the Isle of Wight Register Office. Once a building is registered as a certified place of religious worship it may also be registered for the Solemnization of Marriages which is also carried out through the Superintendent Registrar at the Isle of Wight Register Office. Jewish synagogues and meeting houses of the Society of Friends do not need to be registered for marriages. Details of the registration are printed in the local newspaper.
