Parent and Carer Information

The Coronavirus pandemic brings with it a significant amount of uncertainty and is therefore likely to impact on children and young people in terms of their emotional wellbeing.  For parents and carers dealing with challenging behaviour which occurs due to a child or young person’s SEND a helpful set of resources has been created.  The resources include videos, blog posts discussing issues such as screen time, anxiety, controlling behaviour and violence, as well as useful strategies for parents and carers to use in the home and tips on emotional resilience for caregivers.

The Incredible Years Programme have produced some 'refrigerator notes' for supporting parents during the Covid-19 pandemic.  

More online resources have been created and are listed below to help support children, young people and families during the Coronavirus pandemic.

 

The Isle of Wight Children's Centres Barnardo’s have provided a list of services  (PDF, 110.62 KB, 3 pages) that are available on the Isle of Wight during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Isle of Wight Safeguarding Children partnership have created a list of resources and guidance related to safeguarding children and young people during the Covid-19 Pandemic, as well as information about the Partnership, all available from the homepage of the Isle of Wight Safeguarding Children partnership website. 

 

Hampshire and Isle of Wight – Education Psychology Service

In line with government direction around social distancing and the impact of setting closures on access to our service, we want to reassure you that our service remains available for any consultation and telephone support. In addition to any contact between schools and their link Educational Psychologist, we are also offering a Telephone Support Line and have produced a useful document Isle of Wight Education Psychology Telephone Support Line (PDF, 119.09 KB, 3 pages) that provides more information about this and other services currently available.
