Also known as: Grants to voluntary organisations and other enterprises

Service Description: The Isle of Wight has a nationally recognised way of making grants to voluntary and community organisations, and when available, to private businesses. All grants are advertised through periodic prospectuses, which set out a number of public service outcomes that the council wants to achieve. Any qualifying organisation can apply to deliver the outcomes being advertised. The process is competitive and the best bids are awarded grant funding by a panel that includes the council, and other organisations that can include funding bodies, users of services and representatives of service providing organisations.
